about

In 1969, my parents went on Florida cruise. They met Santana's band & partied. Mom took the meaning of 'vacation' too literally and came home with a surprise. Dad said he always wondered about the smell of weed on her clothes. 9 months later, I was born. The mustache on a newborn should have been a tip off, but the doctor quickly shaved it before Dad got suspicious. When it grew back days later, Mom blamed it on too much hot sauce during pregnancy. I grew up with a passion for guitars & wah pedals. When I was 21, Mom showed me a photo from their vacation & told me the truth. First, I was outraged. I shaved my mustache, sold my sombreros, & smashed all my Santana lps that she had given me as gifts. After years of therapy for my mysterious addiction to pot, I wrote to my real Dad asking if I could join his band or even do a guest solo, but he never wrote back. Today, I play the only style I know, wondering what could have been if Mom had left fake Dad & became a groupie.

about

The Six Million Dollar Guitar Vancouver, British Columbia

I am bionic. I have superhuman guitar playing abilities, and my mantra is better songs, stronger grooves, faster solos. Since my arms are powered with a duracell nuclear battery, I am able to play and improvise for over two hours at a time, beating all previous records set by non bionic humans. Music for working, the bathtub, or running in slow motion. ... more
